Vicente Puchol gives the lecture “The history of the Valencian huerta and the personality of its people”.

The CEO and technical director of EDYPRO, Vicente Puchol, gave last Thursday, 20th October, the conference “The history of the huerta and the personality of its people”. The meeting, organised by ARCHIVAL, explained the historical importance of this natural space full of wealth and its influence on the economic take-off of the second half of the 20th century.

Vicente Puchol showed “reliably how the children of farmers born in this region have developed a very outstanding emotional intelligence and on this basis have emerged great companies that continue to excel and create thousands of jobs and wealth”. He mentioned the children of “successful farmers”: Teresa Bros. from Puig, Enrique Tamarit from Foios, Federico Félix from Foios, Vicente Fontestad from La Puebla de Farnals, the Lladró brothers from Almassera and Juan and Fernando Roig from Poble Nou.

“Another very remarkable case is the career of the great bullfighter Vicente Ruiz “EL SORO”, son of a farmer who has reached the highest peak of the bullfighting world”.

The “Maestro” took part and “gave an example of his values learned in the countryside: humility, hard and persevering work, respect and carrying the region of l’Horta, his village Foios and Valencia. This, together with being grateful to life, has opened the doors for him to be among the greatest”.

Vicente Ruiz “EL SORO”: “I invite young people to follow this scale of values and build a future full of new opportunities of great economic projection”.

“Emotional intelligence has been able to help all these personalities to overcome very difficult moments and be able to emerge victorious”.

With his words he moved the audience by conveying his experiences and “his desire to make people happy from the arena of the bullring”.

He emphasised “the feeling of passion for agriculture, betting on innovation and biotechnology to increase the quality and production of crops, achieving crops without residues”.

Vicente Puchol conveyed that “there is a future in the market garden of Valencia and in the Valencian Community, but for this to happen, certain marketing systems that have expired (such as food markets) must be changed and new models that generate a high economic turnover, generating wealth and a good future for young people with agronomic training to make agriculture become a great business of the future”.
