Biotechnology is one of the most innovative sectors with an impact on people’s lives due to its growing application in medicine, agriculture and environment, food and industrial sectors.
BIOVAL is the cluster of biotechnology companies in Comunitat Valenciana, which currently groups more than 100 different associates: companies and public/private research centers, hospitals, foundations, universities or technology centers, among others. Its associates include prominent leaders in biotechnology research whose scientific advances were confirmed by the uncertainty of COVID-19, such as:
- IMEGEN (www.imegen.es) (Institute of Genomic Medicine) that developed a Sars-Cov-2 detection test by transcription of its typical genes, making its capabilities available to individuals, health centers and companies.
- BIOINICIA (www.bioinicia.com) which recently developed and launched, in collaboration with CSIC, a mask with a nanofiber filter that is homologated and certified by the corresponding organizations.
On October 22, the third ‘BIO Night’ will be held, an event from which to claim the Comunitat Valenciana as a benchmark in the areas of biotechnology, biomedicine and the bioeconomy.
For the first time, and due to the circumstances caused by the global health crisis, this event will be virtually. This new aspect, despite the obvious limitations, is a great opportunity for all those interested in attending the Gala, since it is a very exclusive meeting that in its face-to-face mode already had a reduced capacity and only accessible to a very specific public. This on-line edition allows gathering a greater number of participants.
Silvia Leal’s motivational conference, entitled “Keys to understanding the Future and building the Post-COVID Present” will kick off a night in which BIOVAL wants to pass on its partners and collaborators with the illusion and enthusiasm for the great future that opens for the BIO, as well as the commitment and pride to be part of such a promising sector with so much potential.
Moreover, the ‘BIO Night’ hosts the delivery of the BIOVAL Awards, which seek to recognize, promote and enhance the work carried out in the BIO sector of the Comunitat Valenciana to benefit the advancement in research, technology and the bioeconomy, recognizing those projects that they will have a great return on the concept of improvement for Spanish society.
EDYPRO has always been closely linked to the Association of companies and entities of the BIO sector that includes biotechnology, biomedicine and bioeconomy. These constitute the bioregion of the Comunitat Valenciana (BIOVAL). Our company was one of its founding members in 2006 and in 2012 it became part of its board of directors.
