BIOVAL awards Rithmi, Forest Chemical, Neval and Quibim as the best biotech firms of the year

  • The ‘BIO Night’ virtually brings together more than 300 people to highlight the excellence of the BIO sector in the Comunitat Valenciana.
  • Within the ‘BIO Night’ framework, the cluster emphasizes that the Comunitat is a business center for innovation and development that brings together a turnover of €1.100 million and employs 7.800 people.

València, October 22, 2020. BIOVAL, the BIO cluster of the Valencian Community represents companies, organizations, entities and institutions linked to biotechnology, biomedicine and bioeconomy. It has delivered the BIOVAL 2020 Awards to the best biotech firms of the year which have been given to: Rithmi, as the best Start up Biotech, Forest Chemical Group, in the Bio Industrial category, Neval Grupo Farmalent, as the best BIO initiative in agri-food, and Quibim, as the best BIO company within the Health category.

The awards were given during the celebration of the ‘BIO Night’, a virtual event that has brought together more than 300 people online and which, in its third edition, is now the annual benchmark forum for the BIO sector. Furthermore, the event included a conference by Silvia Leal, an expert in innovation and digital transformation, based on the ‘Keys to understanding the Future and building the Post-COVID Present’. Also, it counted on the presence of the representatives of the Gold sponsors of the BIO Night and the BIOVAL 2020 awards, Banco Santander and Borealis by Grupo Ifedes, Juan Adsuara and David Mor, respectively; the Silver sponsors Asacpharma, Bioinicia, Edypro and IdaiNature, as well as authorities such as the Minister of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors , Commerce and Work, Rafael Climent, were there too; the regional secretary for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Consumption, Rebeca Torró; the general director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Roger Llanes, and the president of the CEV, Salvador Navarro.

These awards “represent the effort, perseverance and commitment made by the BIO of companies from Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. In our bioregion things are being done correctly and the growth of the biotechnology sector is not due to a specific situation: it has come to stay”, explained Carlos Ledó, BIOVAL president during the Gala.
