At just 30 years old, Joaquín Torres already has 14 years of experience dedicated to agriculture. He lived and grew up with the fields in his veins because her family has had farms and to her he owes everything he has learned about the crops he treats the most, which are watermelon, cucumber and pepper.
His technical training has been acquired year after year, and in one of those training he came across EDYPRO‘s biotechnological solutions that today help him improve his crops. And also, with a prize, since he has recently been one of the winners of the EDYPRO contest with a trip to Cuba for two people.
- Tell us about your personal experience. What is your farm like, where is it located and what type of crops do you work?
The crops we grow the most are mainly cucumber and watermelon, and also a little pepper. It is in the area of El Ejido in Las Chozas. It is a good area for growing because it is recognized for being a colder area. And all our crops are sheltered and well ventilated.
- What is your experience with EDYPRO’s biotechnological solutions?
We got to know your products at a conference, about three years ago. I liked the conference and the things that were said in it. And as a result of this conference Vicente Puchol visited me, he recommended some of EDYPRO‘s biotechnological solutions and from there the results I obtained convinced me. And little by little what I try is to improve the cultivation.
- By the type of cultivation, which EDYPRO’s biotechnological solutions you use most? And what results have you obtained with them?
More used solutions are COUPÉ REGENERACIÓN PLUS, EDYFRUIT ENGORDE and PROCUAJE RADICULAR.
PROCUAJE RADICULAR, helps a lot in flowering and gives strength to the flower. COUPÉ REGENERACIÓN PLUS is very good for times when the plant experiences stressful situations, it works very well to de-stress the plant. And COUPÉ REGENERATION PLUS together with the ENRAIZANTE ESPECIAL goes very well. In the case of EDYFRUIT ENGORDE RADICULAR we noticed that within a few days of its application there is a very good response from the plant and it is quite fattening.
- What characteristic do EDYPRO biotechnological solutions give your crops that make them different in the market?
Another feature that we value most in EDYPRO solutions is that they do not contain residues. Work with biotechnological solutions without residues benefits the soil, the customer and the agriculture in general.
- We are seeing how the market is demanding increasingly ecological agricultural products, with Residue 0 and only when it comes to quality products is it willing to pay more for them. What experience are you having in this regard?
I believe that consumers are increasingly demanding higher quality and food without any type of residue and is willing to pay a little more. Consumers always try to buy products that are healthy.
- In addition to the results of your products, what do you value in a company like EDYPRO?
Above all, it is the treatment of the technicians who guide and advise you when they come here to see the farm and advise you very well (Cristóbal Pérez de Cerrillo y Perez and Vicente Puchol from EDYPRO). This work of closeness with the farmer and advice does a lot and says a lot about the company.
- In your case, the management of EDYPRO’s biotechnological solutions has resulted in the award with a trip to Cuba. How have you lived this moment?
It was a very exciting moment and I lived it with great joy. The truth is that I did not expect it. I was on the farm watering and suddenly they called me on the phone and told me that they were calling from EDYPRO. At that time I thought it was because they came to visit the farm but when they told me; I’m calling you to congratulate you and I thought, my mother, I have won the trip.
