Treatment with BIDESINFECTION PLUS for nematode problems

PROBLEM

On this farm called La Funa there was previously an orange plantation. The farmer uprooted the old trees and planted new trees of the Chislett Summer Navel orange variety.

However, the land continued to suffer from a nematode infestation. These tiny animals do not usually present a problem, as they feed on fungi, bacteria and other organisms, but sometimes a group of them do pose a threat to the plantations as they feed on the roots of the crops.

In the photographs we can see the situation on 22 July in which the repercussions of the nematodes on the trees can be seen;

Reduced growth
Chlorosis of leaves
Early or delayed maturity
Wilting regardless of adequate soil moisture
Reduced yields

The result is the invasion of the nematodes in the root system until the correct transit of the raw sap is interrupted, resulting in the end of the plant’s productive life.

SOLUTION

EDYPRO diagnosed this disease and decided to manage the situation and its trees with the application of BIDESINFECTION PLUS, a product capable of controlling fungal and nematode infections in established crops. And which has been developed to be applied via irrigation with the ability to provide an excellent medium capable of maintaining in balance the vital and nutritional functions of the crop.

To recover the tree, the following treatment was started:

First application at the end of July. A first impact dose of BIDESINFECTION PLUS was applied via irrigation at 80 L/ha.
One month after this application. A second application of 60 L./ha. of the same solution was made via irrigation.
A third application is pending. BIDESINFECTION PLUS will also be applied at 40 L/ha. via irrigation.

RESULT

The crop has responded exceptionally well as can be seen in these photographs from 6 September 2019.
