José Rivera belongs to a family with a long agricultural tradition. Incarnates the fourth generation dedicated to the farming and throughout his life he has also worked as a commercial representative of EDYPRO. He welcomes us in his Torres Torres tangerines field where he grows Oronules and Esbal varieties to tell us how EDYPRO’s biotechnology makes his life easier and improves the quality of his crops.
- There are many years using EDYPRO products …
Yes, I know Vicente from the year 92 and when he embarked on this project, I did not hesitate to bet on him. He is a person who gives you a lot of confidence because he makes a very good reading of the fields and plants. But, above all, you realize that he is not going to just sell and endorse an invoice. He tells you if you have to water, prune, … You feel that he really cares about your work.
- What do EDYPRO’s products have that you trust in them so many years?
I know them well, because I’ve been working as a distributor for some years, but they also offer results. And with constancy and assiduity these results are lasting.
Although many times if the decay of the crop is little exaggerated, the results are less evident; but when the crop is in critical condition with few performances the result is spectacular. The truth is that if you compare them with other products, the differences are perceived instantly.
- Tell us about a case in which you saved the year.
I can tell you a very clear example that I was in my distributor stage. Normally we entered a farm when they no longer knew what to do. They had tried the conventional solutions and nothing worked. Then they entrusted themselves to this biotechnology and we put it forward. We have saved crops that their owners thought would have to remove.
- And in your farm?
The tangerine harvest this year featured “pixat”. Now they have regenerated the skin, it is perfect. Also some year that some variety in this area has been spoiled, here they have been able to overcome the climatic difficulties successfully.
You also realize that when you collect the fruits, the tree stays in perfect conditions for the following year.
I always say that you have to have faith in these products, because although the results are palpable, when everything goes well they are less obvious. You simply perceive that your field works very well and that makes you relax and you can fall into “the dark side”.
- What do you mean about “the dark side”?
I relaxed myself last year. It was a good year, without big problems and I thought: I’m going to throw anything because this year it works alone and I can save a few euros. What I got? To spoil the things (a bad harvest) and to have to fix them this year with the help of EDYPRO.
The numbers speak for themselves. Last year Oronules harvest was 55 thousand kilos. This year has been 130 thousand kilos.
- Why would you recommend EDYPRO to other farmers?
The results make it recommended only. I’m going to tell you a very funny anecdote. Some time ago a buyer came and told me that he had a client who used products that are highlighting and made the plants work with impressive quality and rhythm. He´ve promissed to pass me the information days later. I was laughing for several hours when he sent me a message recommending EDYPRO products. “Yes, they sound good to me,” I said.
The truth is that the quality and great results of the products added to the personalized treatment that Vicente gives. It is difficult to find someone who feels the agronomy as much as he does and reflects it in his dealings with the field and the clients.
